New York-based real estate startup opens new office in Texas
NEW YORK, Nov. 2, 2018—Spruce, a national title insurance and escrow company, has hired Lisa Robertson to be their Executive Vice President of Real Estate Operations. Robertson joins the firm with 30 years of experience in the mortgage, title, and real estate services industries. She will be responsible for scaling Spruce’s title and closing operations.
Spruce is also announcing the opening of a new operations center in Dallas, TX. Robertson will lead the new office and is currently hiring for various positions in sales and operations.
“Lisa’s proven track record of success and experience is key for us as we look to enable not only mortgage lenders in their origination processes, but real estate companies as well. Until now, nobody has been motivated or focused on bringing meaningful cost savings and customer experience improvements to home purchase closings, and that is a key strategic focus for Spruce going forward.”
Having spent 16 years at Citi leading operations for mortgage originations, small business lending and home equity, she acquired deep knowledge for engineering and improving processes and services that provided operational effectiveness while remaining in legal and regulatory compliance.
Recognizing the impact that title companies can have on the lending process and borrower experience, she joined First American as VP of National Operations where she led operations for large national accounts including two joint venture operations.
More recently, Robertson was Group Senior Vice President at Stewart where she was responsible for centralized title and closing operations for both refinance and purchase transactions before turning her attention to Stewart’s Relocation Services division, where she was responsible for leading the operations that processed and facilitated thousands of real estate acquisitions, resales and property management services every month focused on ensuring the transferee’s relocation experience was seamless.
“We are delighted to have Lisa on board as we look to scale our operations outside of our New York headquarters to enable us to serve more clients. She is uniquely qualified to address the needs of our mortgage lender and real estate clients, and her passion for providing a great service to all of our customers will serve to strengthen our strong customer-focused culture.”
Robertson added: The status quo has continued to overshadow innovation in this industry. I’ve been so impressed with Spruce, their commitment to transparency and re-imagining the customer experience. It’s at the core of everything they do. I’m incredibly excited to be a part of making the future of title and settlement a modern and more favorable experience.
